Problems with Props
Props cannot be placed on set - Link - 99.99% of the time, this is due to outdated drivers. Update your graphic card’s drivers. Additionally, if you’re in a Quick Start movie, you will not be able to place new props. Go to the Main Menu, hit New Movie and if a window appears, asking Do you want to run the Quick Start Movie?, click No.
Items or characters disappear or act unusual (i.e. they don’t animate correctly) in the Character Shop or on set - If your drivers are updated this could mean that your graphics card does not support hardware skinning. Turn off Hardware Skinning in the Settings>Graphics menu.
Playing Video on Props - Link - This only works on props that, when in Director’s View, have a Play Video option when clicking on them. A Moviestorm user found these video settings consistently reliable -
AVI: 640x420, Video codec: cinepak, FPS: 25 frames per second, Data Rate: 1223kps, Audio: 1411kbps, Audio Sample Size: 16bit, Audio Format: CM
They also found that if you experiment with one bad (wrong format) video, all other good ones CAN stop working until you restart MS without that bad format video and that the movies (AVI) made in Moviestorm also seem to work.
